My Blog

Finally got round to sorting out my MySpace

I thought it was not such a good idea to have more than one blog type site to keep updated.

I ended up getting my bit on MySpace, due to some people asking me to join and add them.

I just left it with the boring drab and badly designed defaults.

I have since seen that there are plenty of DJs that have both their own site, and a presence on MySpace.

I Googled for a way to do my bit of MySpace, and came across this blog that had some code that I could use.

The almost final result is here:

If we do Link Swap, then I will post yours on the Link Swap Page.

If you send a description, I will add it to your link.

New Music Royalty Rates May Shut Down Internet Radio

UPDATE…..

There’s a online petition going… I’ve digitally signed it.

On Friday March 2nd, the U.S. government, through the Copyright Royalty Board (CRB), made a determination of the royalty rates Internet Radio webcasters must pay the owners of sound recording copyrights to license the music they webcast for the years 2006-2010. The license is paid to SoundExchange, a nonprofit organization that collects royalty payments from digital music broadcasters and distributes them to rights holders.

The above quote is from www.di.fm (http://www.di.fm/blog/read/2007/03/new-music-royalty-rates-are-about-to.html) ,which is my favourite internet radio station. It’s a shame things are going this way…

Dedicated Music Computer Mod Project

I’m always listening to internet radio or music from my computer’s hdd.
I never listen to anything else, so my hi-fi is 99% useless (except for the on timer to play a cd to wake me up)

I decided to build a small dedicated music computer, that can be controlled using only a character display and some switches in the front of the case. No monitor is going to be used with this.
